The design incorporates expanded apparatus bay access and capacity, energy-efficient systems (roofing, windows, HVAC, LED lighting), water-conserving fixtures, and enhanced natural daylighting. Interior improvements include training space, semi-private firefighter quarters with support facilities, multi-functional meeting rooms, and increased storage on each floor.
