CRANBERRY NATURE CENTER WEST HARRISON, NEW YORK PARK + RECREATION PUBLIC SPACES RFP for new nature center of Cranberry Lake Preserve in West Harrison, NY Sustainable design of New new nature center facility to accommodate gallery/exhibit rooms, classrooms, public bathrooms and a variety of flexible multi-use programs for visitors and residents.

SCARSDALE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING SCARSDALE, NEW YORK EMERGENCY SERVICES FACILITIES HISTORIC The new building will effectively tie into the current 1924 facility, paying tribute to Scarsdale's firefighting and police history. It will gracefully stand apart from its neighbors as a proud symbol of confidence, fortitude, and safety. The new addition/renovation will cleverly satisfy all of the present and future expansion needs. Special attention will be paid to the flow of public and private people traffic, noise level concerns, and multi-use flexible spaces. The new Headquarters will fulfill all the program requirements including the design of a commercial kitchen with dining area, complete bath, shower, and locker facilities, various offices for the Chiefs, Inspector, Tour Commander, Detectives, and other Officers, a new dispatch area, multi-purpose rooms, an audio/visual training room, exercise room, comfortable living quarters, various equipment and clerical storage areas, miscellaneous support spaces as well as a new historically accurate roof. Planning features include the careful organization of spaces so police and firemen's activities do not interfere with the public and office environment, and an additional apparatus bay for a future fire engine (pumper). Separate entrances for the public, private officers and staff are also provided.

GREENBURGH POLICE STATION GREENBURGH, NEW YORK EMERGENCY SERVICES FACILITIES This public project was successful on a number of levels. The Greenburgh Police Headquarters was seeking ways to effectively update and expand the entire facility. One of the major requirements of the space was that the Police Officers wanted to engage the public in a more open manner and thus seem more 'friendly' to the general public. The addition, improved entrance and public areas were achieved through the use of natural materials and colors. Stones, finished woods were used in union with steel to create a warmer environment while maintaining the fortitude and dependability that is representative of the Greenburgh Police. The 3000 square foot alteration successfully balances a variety of design features including allowing large quantities of natural light when required, providing state of the art engineering to regulate the environment, depending on the activity and amount of occupants, and equipment storage. The building was also designed to conform to all current ADA (American Disabilities Act) codes, which provides access to previously inaccessible spaces. The $2 million project includes the design and systems coordination of energy saving, environmentally controlled spaces, achieved through careful attention to design, civil, construction and engineering issues. The project was completed on time and within the budget.

WILLIAM J. VESCIO COMMUNITY CENTER LOCATION BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NEW YORK PROJECT TYPE Historic Restoration, Public Space PROJECT DETAILS Size: 7,000 sq ft Status: Completed 2016 PFGA provided design, construction documents and construction administration for a 1921 building connected to the Village Library, to provide new windows, storefronts, doors, painting, kitchen, and new interior community center with new mezzanine level, interior and exterior modernizations including HVAC, exterior wood, steel, and concrete repairs. This Addition and Interior Renovation project was initiated to transform a 110 year old, vacant, non-used space, into a welcoming, social destination offering functional, flexible areas for meetings, quiet study, group work and presentations, for groups and individuals of all ages. Th building was designed as LEED Silver and is meant to operate as a stand-alone facility, yet integrate seamlessly with adjacent Library operations and architectural building character. Improvements included exterior restoration, gut interior renovation, creation of a new mezzanine floor, new support spaces, engineering and audiovisual systems and ADA compliance.
