8TH AVE CONDOMINIUMS LOCATION MOUNT VERNON, NEW YORK PROJECT TYPE Multi-Family Residential, Affordable Housing PROJECT DETAILS Size: 15,000 sq ft Includes: 3 stories, 11 units This unique project was successful on a number of levels. There was a need for quality, attractive affordable housing in close proximity to the local businesses and transportation. Choices were limited due to initial budget constraints. As the land search progressed, a 5,000 square foot site was discovered, and the project came to life. A three story housing complex for moderate income families at the southwest corner of North Eighth Avenue and North Street was built on the vacant site of former an apartment building, which burned to the ground in 1986. P. Forest Development working with Westhab In Mount Vernon, Inc., is the developer. The $1.2 million project is an Award winning example of how to design and build attractive affordable housing in which the homeowners, and city citizens are proud. The eleven-unit Tudor style building provides new vitality, and an improved landscaping which serves to beautify and better service the residents and the community. THE OPUS LOCATION WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK PROJECT TYPE Commercial PROJECT DETAILS Size: 146 rooms / lobby Status: Completed 2022 Providing design and construction documents for an existing hotel lobby and hotel guest room interior renovation, to provide new foyer, reception lobby, lounges, bar, salon, and new interior renovation of the existing hotel rooms. The project also included the development of a fully ADA-compliant accessible lobby design, complemented by carefully planned support spaces to ensure seamless circulation, barrier-free access, and full adherence to all applicable accessibility standards. These included accessible reception areas, clear circulation paths, seating zones, and adjacent service spaces—each configured to meet or exceed ADA standards Guestroom improvements encompassed the full interior refurbishment of existing rooms, including updated finishes, improved lighting, and enhanced functionality, ensuring an elevated level of comfort and convenience for hotel visitors. SCARSDALE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING LOCATION SCARSDALE, NEW YORK PROJECT TYPE Municipal, Historic Restoration PROJECT DETAILS Size: 26,000 sq ft Status: Completed 2011 Includes: commerical kitchen with dining area, locker room facilites, staff offices, new dispatch area, multi-purpose rooms, audio/visual training room, exercise room, equipment and storage areas, support spaces This gut renovation/expansion/rehabilitation project was successful on a number of design, planning and engineering levels. The building was designed to suit the needs of the entire civic community, police, firefighters, and support staff. The new building effectively ties into the current 1924 facility, paying tribute to Scarsdale’s firefighting and police history. It gracefully stands apart from its neighbors as a proud symbol of confidence, fortitude, and safety. The new addition/renovation resolves all of the present and future expansion needs, landscaping, and parking areas. The resulting design is a complement to the street-scape, and promotes a sense of professional excellence, security and pride for the local Village residents and the entire Police and Fire Department staff working at the new facility. SCARSDALE PUBLIC LIBRARY LOCATION SCARSDALE, NEW YORK PROJECT TYPE Public Space PROJECT DETAILS This RFP was for New Public Library in Scarsdale, NY. The existing library was very rich in history and needed to expand for multi events and upgrade to contemporary setting. The design approach was to reflect the suburban area (low rise) and create the outdoor courtyard and landscape to be a part of library. PFGA and Aaron Cohen Associates, Library consultants teamed up for the RFP for specialized analysis and expert planning schemes. Back to PROJECTS
